Welcome to another season of West Hill Softball!We strive to keep everyone informed as best and as often as possible. Here are this week’s things to know:

Evaluation Update
- THIS WEEK: First evaluations for u17/u19 (Saturday) and u15 (Sunday).
- We are hard at work going through the latest registrations to put together our evaluation groups this weekend
- You will be notified through TeamSnap emails (as soon as we can) for when/where your evaluation sessions will take place.
- Not all players may receive an invite for this weekend, but we will inform ALL u15/u17/u19 players whether you are to attend or not required.
- We apologize in advance for the short notice of this initial round of evaluations.

Intro to Softball
- On Sunday, we had 44 new players join us to learn about the sport! Many smiles were seen, and we had 20 coaches & junior coaches participating

- We are working on finding gym time for the Family Day weekend to hold a second one! Stay tuned

Rustbusters / Clinics
- Over the past two weekends, we have had over 100 participants in our various Rustbusters across the city!
- Big shout out to all the Coaches, Volunteers, and Equipment transports for the two weekends.
- We are working on squeezing in a few more sessions in February, pending gym availability.
- We are also working on some pre-season clinic plans around spring break time. Stay tuned for more info.
Parent Orientation Meeting: Tuesday, February 27 (Save the date!)
- Mandatory attendance for all families NEW to U9 or above
- Recommended for ALL returning families to find out more about what’s new for the coming season, including Q&A.
- Details for the meeting will be sent closer to the date.
Volunteer Requirements
- All U9+ families are required to complete 2 credits at the association level this season, plus 8 credits with your team

Coaching this year? Please complete your pre-requisites now!
- All the requirements for becoming a coach are listed on our How to Become A Coach Page.
- Please note: We have secured 6 spots in a Community Coach Clinic (Level 1) in April. Once we have more details and registration link, we will open it to Coaches.
Respect In Sport – They do not expire
- If your RIS certification says EXPIRED, please ignore this. It is NOT currently a requirement of Calgary Minor to renew your RIS
- If you plan to coach, you MUST have completed the leaders version

Registration Update – 260 and counting!
We are ahead of pace from last year and looking to once again reach 400 players this season! Help us get there, and refer your friends!

Registrations – Race to 100% Renewals
Although we do not yet have a returning team with 100% renewal, the following teams are within 2 players from 100%:
- U07-2 (Coach Ayla)
- U09-3 (Coach Rafael), U09-4 (Coach Chris/Stacey)
- U11-1 (Coach Chad), U11-2 (Coach Scott)
- U13-7 (Coach Randy)
- U15-6 (Coach Sean/Chelsie)
Kudos to all these coaches and families for fostering such a fantastic culture last season to bring (nearly) everyone back this season!
